MISSIONThe Renaissance Art Academy was founded by master painter David Borenstein to provide the highest level of
instruction methods and techniques of the Old Masters of the Golden Age of the Renaissance, to recreate a new
Renaissance for today.
A new beginning with Old Masters' techniques such as painting light, beauty, magic, and
fantastic realism with amazing compositions.
The skills you will aquire in a short time period will enable you to
create your own painting in a personal way with the craftsmanship obtained by studying the old masters
techniques.
The studio setting will be based on that of Rembrandt's studio - apprenteship style - working side by
side, all levels, all ages, receiving individual instruction in a group environment. The studio will set up for beginner students to work from casts and copy that of Old Masters drawings.
There will be still life set ups, copying the Old Masters in oil, underpainting, black and white and glazing. Working from live models, painting landscapes from reproductions, and working from photos. Additionally there will be an optional figure-drawing sketch group meeting once a week, as well as an optional weekly a la prima sunset painting session. |
